• Understanding Pressure Sores. Learn what pressure sores are, their stages, symptoms, and how they affect the skin and tissue.

• Identifying Risk Factors. Recognize what makes people more likely to get pressure sores, like being immobile, having poor nutrition, or certain medical conditions.

• Assessment and Monitoring. Learn how to check the skin for early signs of pressure sores and use tools to predict the risk of sores.

• Skin Care and Maintenance. Understand the importance of regular skin checks and keeping the skin clean, dry, and moisturized to prevent sores.

• Use of Supportive Devices. Explore how special mattresses, cushions, and other devices can help spread pressure evenly to prevent sores.

• Nutrition and Hydration. Learn how a balanced diet and enough fluids help keep skin healthy and prevent pressure sores.

• Implementing a Care Plan. Develop personalized care plans with regular repositioning, skin checks, and other preventive steps for each service user.

• Documentation and Reporting. Understand the importance of accurately recording skin conditions, care given, and any changes to ensure consistent and prompt care.

Assessment will be observational and a multiple choice question paper.

Training will run from 9.30AM to 1.00PM. Make sure to get there 15 minutes earlier.
